Mahogany Bay is now Isla Tropicale
If your Carnival or Princess itinerary lists "Isla Tropicale", it is the same Dixon Cove pier that opened as Mahogany Bay in 2009. Carnival announced the rename in April 2025 and unveiled the rebuilt site in May 2026, with Carnival Jubilee the first ship to use it. The headline addition is Mangrove Bay, a 48,000 sq ft pool area with a swim-up bar and a kids' splash pad, plus a peninsula of cabanas and daybeds that are rented separately. The chairlift down to the beach stays.
The compound has two berths and its own shops and bars, and it is reserved for Carnival Corporation ships. Every other line - Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, MSC, Virgin and the rest - ties up at the town-centre pier in Coxen Hole.
The island is long, so plan around the drive
Roatán is about 53 km long and only 7 km wide, sitting some 65 km off the Honduran mainland. Both piers are toward the middle of the south coast, and the reef beaches and dive shops are out at the western tip, so most of a self-guided day is spent on the one road west. Settle the fare before you get in, and confirm whether the number is US dollars or lempiras, the local currency. Both terminals have ATMs.
