Palma de Mallorca cruise port

Mallorca's capital wraps around a wide bay with a sandstone Gothic cathedral, La Seu, standing right on the seafront where you can see it from the ship. Beyond the cathedral there is a genuine old town of narrow lanes, courtyards and patio bars that has nothing to do with the package-holiday coast further east. Most calls are long enough to add a mountain drive or a beach afternoon.

Poniente or Dique del Oeste

Palma's cruise berths come in two clusters. Estaciones Maritimas 1-4 sit on the Poniente and Paraires quays, which run straight into the long waterfront boulevard toward the city. Estaciones 5-6 are out on the Dique del Oeste breakwater near Porto Pi, noticeably farther from the old town.

Which one you get depends on ship size and what else is in port that day, so check the number in your daily planner. A taxi to Estacio 2 and a taxi to the Dique del Oeste are different rides.

A water bus from November 2026

From November 1, 2026, a new nautical bus - two lines aimed at cruise passengers - links the Dique del Oeste and Poniente terminals with a landing at La Llotja, by the old town. Tickets in 2026 were EUR 10 single and EUR 18 return. It is run by Palma Cruises for the port authority, and the point is to keep cruise-day traffic off the seafront road.

Fewer ships on summer days ahead

Palma has been trying to thin out its cruise days for years. Under a memorandum signed with the cruise industry in September 2026, the island aims for no more than three ships a day in peak summer, cutting daily cruise visitors from roughly 8,500 to 7,500. It is voluntary self-regulation rather than a hard port rule, so a busy day can still mean three big ships disgorging at once - which is when a mountain drive to Valldemossa beats the old-town lanes.
