Virgin Voyages Cruises

Every Virgin Voyages sailing is 18 and over - there are no kids' clubs and no family cabins to plan around. The ships are styled more like a boutique hotel than a traditional cruise ship, with a two-story nightclub, DJ sets and late-running shows, and there is no buffet and no main dining room. Instead, the 20-plus restaurants on board are all included in the fare, with no specialty-dining surcharges.

The fare also covers Wi-Fi, group fitness classes like yoga, spin and HIIT, and the basics to drink: still and sparkling water, soda, drip coffee and tea. Cocktails, wine, beer, fresh juices and smoothies are paid as you go. Since October 2025 Virgin sells three fare levels for Sea Terrace cabins and below - Base, Essential and Premium - which differ in Wi-Fi tier, how early you can book restaurant times (15, 45 or 60 days out) and how much you can change the booking. Premium adds a bar tab credit.

Tips used to be folded into the price. Under the 2025 fare change they show as a separate line at booking: $20 per sailor per night if prepaid, or $22 if settled on board. Once that is covered, no other tipping is expected anywhere on the ship.

Virgin's closest competition is less another cruise line than an adults-only resort. Against Celebrity, it is younger, louder and more casual; against Norwegian's drinks-included fares, it is cheaper on food and dearer on alcohol. Groups of friends and couples who would never book a family mega-ship are its core market.
