Cable Beach for $1.50 on the No. 10
Nassau's jitneys are privately run minibuses, and route 10 is the one cruise passengers want: it runs from downtown out past Fort Charlotte and Ardastra Gardens to Cable Beach. Walk about five minutes from Prince George Wharf to Bay Street or Frederick Street and wave one down from the curb. The 2026 fare is about $1.50, cash only and in exact change.
There are no stop buttons - call out "next stop, please" when you want off. Buses come every 10-15 minutes on the main routes and stop running around 6:30pm, so a late all-aboard means a taxi back.
What the rebuilt terminal holds
The rebuild that opened in May 2023, after three years of construction, added a sixth berth and turned the wharf into a stop of its own: a Junkanoo museum on the national festival, a living coral exhibit, a 3,500-seat amphitheatre and about 40 shops selling Bahamian-made goods. It fills fast on a heavy day - the port logged 28,554 passengers in a single day in 2023. Check how many ships share your date; on a six-ship day, getting off early or heading straight out of downtown both pay.
