The shuttle drops you at the Empress
Shuttles from Ogden Point run about every 15 minutes in season and drop passengers on Government Street in front of the Fairmont Empress, which is the middle of the Inner Harbour. The ride is around 10 minutes, the same as a taxi. Walking takes 20-30 minutes, either through the residential streets of James Bay or along the Dallas Road shoreline and round by Belleville Street.
Princess suggests two to three hours for the Inner Harbour and downtown, which is about what a late-evening call leaves once you subtract the shuttle at both ends. Butchart Gardens is outside the city, open until 10pm most summer evenings, and realistic on a short call only by excursion coach or taxi.
A bigger season than it used to be
The 2026 season at Ogden Point runs from April 10 to October 18, with 335 calls and just over a million passengers expected - Virgin Voyages and MSC both started calling. Ships use the piers of what the harbour authority now calls the Breakwater District, and a Market on the Pier there sells local artisan goods if you have twenty minutes before all-aboard.
Canada's currency is the Canadian dollar. The terminal has a currency exchange, but card payment is widely accepted downtown, so most passengers never need cash.
