Star Princess

Star Princess is the second Sphere-class ship and a near-twin of Sun Princess, but it arrives as the version that learned from its sister's mistakes. Debuting in October 2025 with an 11-day Mediterranean roundtrip from Barcelona, it carries roughly 4,300 guests at around 178,000 gross tons and was christened in November 2025 with godparents Camila and Matthew McConaughey. The vibe is refined, modern, and premium-but-unpretentious, built around the same futuristic Sphere atrium and the signature glass-domed solarium, and pitched squarely at mature couples, groups of friends, and first-time Princess cruisers.

The practical experience leans on a deep specialty-dining bench, including an expanded Love by Britto, the new Umai Hot Pot, The Butcher's Block by Dario, The Catch by Rudi, and praised Neapolitan pizza at Alfredo's, alongside Sanctuary and Reserve Collection restaurants. Cabins are compact but quiet and comfortable with strong bedding, The Dome serves as both an adults-only pool and a nighttime concert theater, and Princess Arena is the fleet's most technologically advanced theater. The trade-offs are real and carried over from Sun: the Eatery buffet is crowded, wayfinding is confusing, the Piazza is noisy during events, and early sailings showed slow service typical of a new ship.

Star Princess is best for couples, friend groups, and Princess first-timers who want a large, amenity-rich, polished ship with a luxury Sanctuary Collection tier layered on top. It sits in the premium-mainstream tier and distinguishes itself from Sun with concrete launch fixes, a separate non-smoking casino, relocated and expanded venues, a reworked Americana Diner, a retooled Spellbound show, and a sports deck. Its biggest standout ahead is Alaska, where Star becomes the first Sphere-class ship in the region in May 2026 and The Dome's glass views become a true highlight.
