The first thing posters untangle for Edge is what 'veranda' means on this class. Regulars who have sailed Edge, Apex and Beyond lay it out the same way in 2025 and 2026 threads: the standard veranda cabins are Infinite Verandas, the Porthole Verandas at the bow and stern are real but shallow balconies with a round-window outlook, the Sunset Verandas across the stern are the only conventional walk-out balconies outside the Retreat's Sky Suites, and there are so few Sunset Verandas that they usually need a travel agent booking far ahead. One reply added that Sunset Verandas cost more for scarcity rather than quality and sit a long walk from most venues. What posters add to the usual Infinite Veranda debate is climate: a 2025 Alaska sailing in a deck 8 forward IV called the cabin roomy with a lot of storage and loved cracking the window for cold air, while a poster on the Australia to Hawaii run and another on a summer southern route found the room turned hot and humid whenever the window was down, because the air conditioning cuts out. A New Zealand sailing reported the glass washed several times so salt never built up, and that the window mechanism was audibly noisier in a relative's cabin than in their own.

Deck advice clusters around the Sunset Verandas, which on Edge sit aft on decks 7, 8, 9 and 12. An August 2025 poster choosing between those decks was told to avoid deck 12 on any Edge-class ship: the aft pizza counter, buffet and open deck above produced chair-scraping from before 6 a.m. until after 1:30 a.m. on one sailing, bad enough that Celebrity moved that couple down to deck 11 mid-cruise. Decks 8 and 9 have cabins above and below and were the consensus answer, and someone who had stayed on both on Edge itself found them identical for outside noise. On the oceanview side, a 2026 thread praised the Panoramic Ocean View, a full window wall that comes in an unobstructed version and a more common deck 6 version over the lifeboats; the couple who had stayed in the deck 6 kind did not think an Infinite Veranda was worth the step up from it. For families, two connecting Infinite Veranda cabins got a strong recommendation from a couple who crossed the Atlantic with a one- and a three-year-old, and a 2023 thread about two teenage boys concluded that below Retreat level nothing on Edge has a second bathroom, so two cabins beat one big one unless an Edge Villa, with parents upstairs and kids down, is in budget. A 2021 back-to-back reviewer noted that even the inside cabins run large for the category.
